What happens when one tries to write a letter to Reiki?
Well, my final assignment before graduating as a Reiki Master was to write a letter to Reiki. Consider it an introduction to a lifelong friend. Interestingly, the below was what transpired...

Dear Reiki,
I tried to write you a letter today. For a few moments, no matter how I tried, no words would come. Maybe I’ll try to close my eyes and feel you instead, okay?
(I climbed up the summit of a mountain... *panting*... but the view was breathtaking...)
(I saw an old man. Smiling at me.)
“So, you’re here finally. Been a long climb huh?”, the old man grinned.
“Three years!” I pointed out emphatically. (*still panting*)
“Ahhh... but look at this! Isn’t it worth it?” the old man grinned more.
(Took a long, deep appreciative sweep of the mountainous landscape)
“You’re right. It’s beautiful...” I concurred.
(Silence)
“So now... what? Do I need to save the world?”
“Haha... nah... you don’t have to save the world. The world needs to save themselves. But you saving yourself is a good start. Maybe more will follow.”
“So, I don’t have to do anything?”
“No. Nothing. Just do your thing and let others see your light.”
(Pause... another silence...)
“Really? I don’t need to do anything?”
“Just be.”
(Silence)
(Appreciative glance at the landscape again)
(Deep heave of relief)
“Just be huh?”
“Just be.”
Yeah, I guess that’s all that is. Thank you for everything, Reiki.
